Taekwondo Controversy: Verbal altercation and slapping incident involving Pirhadi and Mabina Nemat Zadeh’s father

Following the recent controversy in Iran’s Taekwondo community, veteran coach and referee Yadollah Pirhadi claims that on August 1, 2025, he was assaulted by Mabina Nemat Zadeh’s father. Pirhadi explained that the incident began with the transfer of classes from Mehrouz Saeii, who was absent, to Mabina Nemat Zadeh (who lacks coaching certification). He added that after warning Nemat Zadeh about noise and arguments with a parent, she responded with inappropriate language.

This led to a meeting at the Tehran Taekwondo federation where Mabina Nemat Zadeh’s father slapped Pirhadi inappropriately.

Additionally, a parent of some athletes testified that after protesting about the dirty training hall, Mabina Nemat Zadeh threatened him. These incidents have caused a lot of controversy in the Taekwondo community.

Top Stories:Mabina Nemat Zadeh, in an online interview, denied Pirhadi’s claims, saying he entered the women’s section of the gym and hit her several times. She mentioned watching the movie “Girls Don’t Cry” afterward, which caused her emotional distress. She also admitted that her father slapped Pirhadi and stands by his actions, believing he has the right to do so.
