Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):

The value of a wife (woman) in the home is such that she is considered a factor of peace for a man’s life. (He created from it a mate so he may find comfort with her… Surah Al-A’raf, Verse 189)

Talking with one’s spouse is also considered a good deed, and even two units of prayer performed by a married person is superior to worship performed all night by a single person. A Hadith states that one unit of prayer of a married man is better than seventy units performed by a single man (Al-Muqni’a, p. 497).

The Importance of Marriage

Imam Sadiq (A) said:

My father asked a man: Do you have a wife?

The man replied: No.

My father said: It does not please me that the world and everything in it belongs to me while I spend a night without a wife.

Then he added: Two units of prayer performed by a married man are superior to the worship of a single man who spends his entire night in devotion and fasts during the day.

My father then gave him seven gold coins and said: Use this money to get married.

He then narrated from the Messenger of God (PBUH) that: Marry, as it indeed brings you more sustenance. Couples have numerous rights over each other, and observing these rights leads to a sweet and harmonious life. (Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 50)
