How to Make Mash Polo; Lunch and Dinner Without Meat or Chicken
- First, we’ll cook the washed mash that we soaked an hour prior.
- Meanwhile, we will sauté the chopped onions in a frying pan and, once they are golden, add a little turmeric.Onionand then remove it from the pan.
- In the same pan, using the leftover oil from frying the onions, we will sauté the grated or julienned onions until they are well browned.
- After frying them well,Carrotswe’ll add the fried onions and all the other spices and continue sautéing.
- Once the mash is half-cooked, we’ll strain it and add it to the boiling rice. We remove the mash at a half-cooked stage because we don’t want its appearance to change, and it will cook a bit more in the rice water.Rice WaterWe’ll sprinkle a bit of turmeric to give the mash and rice a beautiful color.
- When the rice is ready to be drained, we will strain it.
