How to Completely Clean Soot Stains Around the Fireplace
The fireplace is one of the parts of the home that is most exposed to soot and dirt. The problem is that it shows dirt clearly, and removing these stains can be quite difficult. Before starting any cleaning, use a dustpan to remove all the ashes and put them in a bag, and vacuum any remaining dirt with a regular vacuum cleaner.

1-Tartar Cream

2. Vinegar

Method
Combine equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle, then spray it onto a clean sponge to apply to the fireplace or spray it directly onto the bricks. While the bricks are wet, apply a second spray and use a brush to spread the moisture in a circular motion.
It is better to usebaking sodaand water as well to reduce the acidity of the vinegar and prevent damage to the fireplace bricks.
3- Baking Soda and Dish Soap
Method
Mix 2 to 3 tablespoons of dish soap with half a cup of baking soda until a paste forms. Do not make the mixture too thick, so you can easily spread it on the fireplace wall; if it becomes too stiff, add two more tablespoons of dish soap, and then dip a brush into this paste and scrub it in circular motions on the fireplace wall.
Avoid heavy scrubbing and allow the mixture to sit on the wall for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water, repeating the process as necessary.
You can also clean the underside of the fireplace after performing the above steps, and place a large thick cloth underneath to catch any excess water.
4- Trisodium Phosphate
Before starting, put on gloves and combine a quarter cup of trisodium with two gallons of warm water. This mixture can clean tough stains and is an alkaline substance that removes grease.
Dip a brush into this mixture and start scrubbing with circular motions. Clean the mantel above the stove with this method, and you can use a sponge instead of a brush. After finishing, take a clean sponge dipped in water and apply it to the bricks until soot is no longer present.
