The mistakes parents make that lead tochildren’s depressionoccur
Being responsible and having the role of a mother or father is challenging, and there are always many recommendations for raising children. This leads each parent to choose a unique parenting style; however, none of us are perfectly emotionally and mentally developed, which makes us behave differently. Nevertheless, we decided to be good parents ourselves.

As mentioned in previous family sectionsSelMagzAs we also discussed, if parents have a very strict parenting style, it leads to specific behaviors in their children; they may not want to follow rules, which results in them becoming aggressive and aimless individuals who always make poor decisions in life.
Depressionoccurs due to excessive family strictness
Studies show that families that are overly strict and resort to physical and psychological punishments usually have more depressed children. This has been tested on several teenagers aged 12 to 16 years, showing that families with strict behaviors can have changes observed in their children’s DNA structure, which increases the likelihood of developing depression.
StressThe childhood period can be a very destructive factor
Research findings indicate that overly strict parents who impose physical punishment or mentally harm their children are stress factors. In contrast, families with more normal and natural behaviors do not see changes in their children’s DNA structure.
Therefore, strict families can be a cause of their teenagers’ depression and create a lot of stress for them, making treatment very difficult.
