Main Causes of Toilet Clogs
Clogs in Eastern and Western toilets can result from various elements such as waste, plastic wrap, paper towels, hair, and sanitary pads.
Methods to Eliminate Clogs in Eastern and Western Toilets
The following techniques prove effective for unclogging Eastern and Western toilets:
Dish Soap
You can use dish soap to unblock a Western toilet without a plunger, making it easier for residues to slide away. Pour about half a cup of dish soap into the toilet. If you don’t have dish soap, you can use abar of soapcut into small pieces and place them in the toilet.
Drain Snake
You can utilize a drain snake to clear clogs in toilets and drain pipes. For clogs caused by hair or sanitary pads, these materials must be either extracted from the toilet pipe or directed using specialized snakes.
Clothes Hanger
To unclog a Western toilet, you will need a clothes hanger. Unravel the hanger and securely cover its tip with a cloth. Insert it into the pipe and maneuver it around the pipe’s walls. Make sure the cloth is tightly attached to avoid it detaching and getting jammed. Strike the toilet pipe a few times with the wire.
Then turn on the water with high pressure or flush the tank to clear the clog from the Western toilet. This method is akin to using a drain snake.
Hot Water
If dish soap doesn’t do the trick, hot water might be beneficial. Fill a bucket with hot water (boiling water can crack ceramic toilets) and pour it into the toilet. The force of the water can assist in breaking down any residues causing the blockage.
Wiring
For tougher clogs, you can utilize wire; push it into the clogged area to dislodge and free the remaining debris.
Plastic Wrap and Tape

To unblock a Western toilet, tightly cover the toilet bowl with a large plastic bag and cut any excess material. Use tape to seal the plastic around the toilet bowl to ensure that no air can escape or enter.
Next, press the flush button. When you do, the plastic bag will inflate. Put your palm on the bag and push down repeatedly until the blockage clears, then rinse the toilet. If the bag doesn’t inflate, it means air is escaping, so tape that area securely or unveil it, dry it with a cloth, and re-tape. You can also do this method using plastic wrap.
Baking Soda
Use this all-natural solution as a replacement for dish soap. Combine one cup ofbaking sodaand two cupsof vinegarand pour it into the toilet. Allow it to sit for thirty minutes, and if the clog persists, try different methods.
